My experience on Twitter

I started up Twitter on the 12th  August 2020 initially for @Raiseschfunding, which was the day everything went live. We have now been running for about 6 months and what a journey it has been. I decided not too long after to create a personal account to tweet things that are not always campaign-related.

To be honest I was nervous to join because in the past I heard many bad stories about the platform, where there was always some form of hate etc. I for one do not like this and try to avoid any arguments or hate as I like to spread the positivity and see happiness and joy in others. That is what makes me truly happy.

I went against this fear and took this step into the world of Twitter…. What a great experience it has been so far! I have connected with some amazing and kindest individuals both with Raise School Funding and in general. Some being Chris Dyson (@chrisdysonHT) Chris Reddy (@Brightleadersuk @brightleadcoach), Sarah Dove (@PheonixEdSarah) Damien, Mike & Rhiannon (@NexusEdUK), Aidan Severs (@thatboycanteach) and with my old Primary Head Matt Dechaine (@mattdechaine). If you are not following them already, you definitely should do so!

Edutwitter, though I am not an educator just yet, is a fantastic place to be. The way everyone connects and engages with each other and lifts each other’s spirits even in the hardest of times is just fantastic to see. Educators are some of the most inspiring individuals out there even before this pandemic. It was my teachers that inspired me to want to be an Educator myself- Which may happen after University. I would love to be just as great, fun, engaging and inspiring as those that teach me and those on this platform.

I wanted to write this blog as an appreciation that you all have shown me that Twitter is the complete opposite of what I thought and was told. You are all incredible and look forward to connecting and engaging more. Thank you. :)
